Top Tips for Buying your Prom 2022 Dress and Q&A

ITS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good news is that after 2 years, prom is finally back on again. We have been full steam ahead in making sure we have the best selection of glamorous prom dresses in all of our stores, and are so happy to see all of our gorgeous prom girls back. From Glasgow to Southampton, we have your dream dress covered!

WHEN SHOULD I COMMIT TO MY DRESS?

There is never a bad time to choose your dress at Dress 2 Party, as we have always got a constant stock of stunning gowns. However, for prom 2022 dresses have been in shorter supply than previous years due to Covid, so once you pass the Easter holidays you may not have the opportunity to choose from the fullest selection of styles and sizes. Some our most popular dresses sold out in February, but we have managed to get some more on re order for our lucky March and April prom customers!

WHAT ARE THE MOST POPULAR STYLES AND COLOURS FOR PROM 2022?

Prom 2022 has seen a revival of bright colours. In particular think hot pink frothy tulle and vibrant pink satin ball gowns, or summer sunshine feels with pretty yellow Mikado A line gowns or floaty chiffon styles. The ever popular jewel coloured dresses in red, royal blue and emerald green, are a huge hit so far this year, with the pale and more neutral colours like champagne and blush definitely playing second fiddle to the stronger shades available.

For style, in a post Covid world anything goes as long as we are dressing up! Satin and Mikado A line gowns and stretchy satin backless dresses, have been the firm favourites so far. The one they all love to say yes to the dress in this season is our Satin wrap dress. Not too full, not too tight, and with an open lace up back in jewel colours, our Olivia satin wrap dress by Sava is the go to gown of the prom season.

Finally, if you are looking for something a bit “ extra “ then look no further than the Sava Melania or Imogen tulle ball gowns. With oceans of frothy tulle and ruffles or bow shoulder details, these show stopping dresses are sure to win you the prom queen title.

HOW DO I KNOW THAT SOMEBODY ELSE IN MY SCHOOL WON’T GET THE SAME DRESS?

At Dress 2 Party we keep a very strict register to make sure that we don’t sell your dress to anybody else in your school. That means even if they are looking at another colour! The good news is that we are the exclusive stockist of Sherri Hill dresses in London and the largest stockist in Europe, so we are able to keep a very good check on what dresses are being sold. We also have a new brand called Sava that is exclusive to all of our Dress 2 Party Stores and where we can 100 % guarantee that it can’t be purchased elsewhere and without our knowledge.

DO YOU HAVE A PHYSICAL STORE?

Yes we have 6! Our stores are located in London, Liverpool, Glasgow, Wakefield, Cardiff and Southampton. Our customers travel for up to 2 hours to see our selection, but we also have our online store if you can’t make it in to see us.

DO YOU OFFER TAILORING?

We work with expert tailors in all of our locations and no problem is unsolvable! Most of our dresses require shortening (unless you are one of the lucky few who are 6ft tall) and we are there to help with any post sales requirements you may have!

HELP – I HAVE CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT MY PROM DRESS!

We sympathise that choosing your prom dress is a big decision. That’s why we are super flexible about exchanges. If you wake up in a cold sweat regretting your royal blue sequin decision, we are happy for you to exchange your dress right up until the day before your prom. Whenever you purchased it assuming it was within the same prom season!

DO I NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

During Covid we moved across to an appointment booking system. We do still accept walk in’s, but we can guarantee you a fitting room and a one on one consultation, if you book in with us first. We may limit the number of guests you can bring with you depending on how busy it is, but we will tell you that when you make your appointment.

COME PREPARED!

Before you visit us make sure you have looked through the styles on our website, and try to get an idea of the kind of style and colour you may want to try. Having said that, we do also say keep an open mind! Lots of prom girls have a fixed idea about how they want to look, but that may not necessarily be the best style for them. The main thing is to come focused on finding your dream prom dress and securing it when you do.
